Saratoga Springs – Marcella Charbonneau Strang, 93, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2017, at Saratoga Hospital. She was born in Cohoes to the late John-Baptiste Howard Charbonneau and Mary Agnes Froelich.

For over 25 years Marcella worked as a dental assistant around the capital district and was a member of the American Dental Assistants Association. She was also a member of the Ladies of Rotterdam Elks. Following her career, Marcella and her husband, William, retired to Vero Beach, FL and Dark Bay on Lake George. Aside from work and volunteering, Marcella enjoyed golf, tennis, and loved traveling with her family.

Survivors include her loving husband of 74 years, William F. Strang, her daughter Barbara Strang Cassier of Saratoga Springs, sister Joan Cooper of East Schodack, three grandsons; Brian (Tanya) Cassier of Culver City, CA, Mark (Margaret) Cassier or Greenfield, NY, and Jeff (Kelly) Cassier of Weymouth, MA, granddaughter Jaime Gulley, five great-grandchildren; Bradley, Casey, John, Charlee, and McKinlee Cassier, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Marcella is predeceased by her son, Richard Jay Strang, and her siblings, Marion, Estelle, Ethel, Howard, and Richard.

Family and friends are invited to attend a committal service for Marcella and her son, Rick, on Friday, June 30, 2017 at 10am at the Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery (200 Duell Rd, Schuylerville). The Very Rev'd Dean Marshall J. Vang will be celebrating the service.

As a US Navy Veteran, military honors will be rendered for Rick by the US Navy and Saratoga National Cemetery Honor Guard.
