Clifton Park, NY - Margaret "Marge" Ann Brahm, 77, passed away peacefully at her home on August 18, 2023.
She was born on June 19, 1946, in Troy, NY, to the late William and Margaret Crandall. She was a graduate of Troy High and Hudson Valley Community College. In addition she was also a proud Vietnam Era United States Army Veteran.
She worked for many years as an accountant at the Research Foundation for SUNY. After retiring from the Research Foundation she began her second career working at The Vet House and later The Guardian House for homeless Veterans located in Ballston Spa. First as an accountant and later as the Administrative Manager at the Guardian House, she made it her mission to help the men and women staying at these homes in any way she could. It became a passion and calling in her life. She worked tirelessly to do whatever she could for them and to help bring to light the homeless Veteran problem.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her sister Kathryn A. Roth, former brother in law Timothy G. Brahm and her granddaughter Madison L. Brahm
She is survived by her former husband and friend John L. Brahm (Jan) of Waterford, their only son Kevin L. Brahm (Nichole) of Niskayuna, her brother William Crandall Jr. (Janet) of Watervliet, former sister in law Vicki Brahm of Cohoes, cousins Marie Taber (David) of Inverness, Florida, Mary Withkowski of Troy, John Withkowski (Ann Marie) of Hernando, Florida as well as several nieces and nephews.
Margaret will be remembered by the many lives she touched during her time on this Earth for a multitude of reasons, be it her giving nature, caring personality, her undying willingness to help everyone, her devotion to her son and especially his black lab Fenway, her love of animals or the fact that she always did it her way. She was unique, one of a kind and she will be deeply missed.
