Saratoga Springs, NY – Margaret Ferrara, 99, passed away on Monday, September 3, 2018 at Saratoga Hospital.
Born on February 12, 1919 in Putlitz, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Fritz Wilhem and Helene (Prignitz) Breisemeister. She moved from East Berlin to West Berlin with her three small children in 1952, having joined her husband Fritz Walter there. They stayed for a year, and then moved to Ludwigsburg where she worked at Bosch Co.
In 1957, she and her children moved to the United States. Margaret worked for Mohawk Brush for many years and then at Bellevue Hospital. She loved working with all the babies at Bellevue and made many great friends. After her retirement, Margaret spent time as a monitor at Schenectady Elementary School. She worked very hard all her life and took wonderful care of her family.
Margaret is survived by her three children, Renate Mrak and Peter Walter both of Saratoga Springs and Wolfgang Walter of Richland, Washington, as well as seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
