Saratoga Springs, NY- Margaret Ann "Peggy" Helmke passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2017 at The Wesley Health Care Center. She was 81 years old. Margaret Ann was born on January 5, 1936 as the only child of the late Francis and Jean Boyce of Park Slope Brooklyn.
Formerly a Registered Nurse, who trained and worked at Bellevue Hospital in NYC, Peggy continued to put caring about people first as she devoted her time to family as a full time wife and mother. People remember Peggy for how loving and thoughtful she was. Often giving gifts and sending cards to friends (and the family members of friends). Peggy was a lover of art, food, friends and travel, spending much time in the Caribbean with her family. She will be missed by all, but remembered with a smile for all the joy she brought to others.
Peggy is survived by her loving husband Edward H. Helmke, whom she married in 1955. She is also survived by a very large and loving family including her three daughters, Kim Elizabeth Mitchell (and husband Jim Mitchell), Karen Jo Scullion, and Claudia Jean Miller, in addition to her seven grandchildren, with grandsons Ryan, Quinn (and the late Shea) Mitchell, and granddaughters Shannon, Emma and Hanna Scullion and Sofie Miller.
A Memorial will be held for Peggy Helmke on Saturday, July 8th, 2017 at 2pm at The Interlaken Clubhouse at 67 Sarazen Street, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.
Arrangements are under the direction of the William J. Burke & Son/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes of 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs (584-5373).
