Obituary

Gansevoort, NY- Margaret Anna Reese, 96, of Saratoga Springs passed away peacefully at her son's home on March 3, 2022 surrounded by her family.

Born in Amsterdam, NY on October 6, 1925, she was the daughter of the late, Robert and Agnes (Hamilton) Black.  She was a graduate of Wilbert Lynch High School in Amsterdam, where she was a member of the K.E. sorority.    In September of 1946 she married the love of her life, the late, Arnold A. Reese and the two spent 41 loving years together.

Margaret was a communicant of St. Ann's Episcopal Church in Amsterdam, NY.  She was a member of the Amsterdam Amaranth, as well as the Mohawk Valley Chorus, where she had the privilege of singing at Radio City Music Hall. She was also part of a group of crafters making up the Hagaman Home Bureau.  She volunteered with the Red Cross in setting up blood drives as well as volunteering raising funds for Polio victims and their families. She loved throwing parties for her family and friends and loved to celebrate any occasion.  Margaret enjoyed crafting special gifts for her family making unique presents for all.

In addition to her parents and husband, Margaret is predeceased by her daughter, Barbara Reese.

Survivors include her son, Jack (Eileen) Reese; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; her very dear friend, Mary Jane Rubinski; as well as several nieces and nephews.

At the family's request services will be private.  A gathering celebrating her life will be held on Friday, March 11, 2022 at 4pm at The Wishing Well, 745 Saratoga Rd, Gansevoort, NY 12831.  Arrangements are under the direction of the William J. Burke & sons/ Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Home, 628 N. Broadway, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.
