IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Margot A.
Panton
September 10, 1937 – July 11, 2022
Saratoga Springs - Margot A, Panton, 84, of Northern Pines Road, passed away at Wesley Health Care Center on Monday, July 11, 2022 surrounded by her family following a long battle with Alzheimer's.
Born on September 10, 1937 in Saratoga Springs, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Anne Lewis. She graduated from St. Peters Catholic High School in 1955.
Margot was employed for thirty plus years at The Wishing Well Restaurant in Saratoga Springs as a waitress. Those years were happy and a big part of her life. She made many lasting friendships not only with her coworkers but with the patrons as well. She loved her job and looked forward to seeing her regular customers as much as the return customers every year who enjoyed spending summers in Saratoga. Margot was definitely a people person with a firecracker personality.
Her favorite ways to past the time were bowling in the Friday night ladies league at Saratoga Bowl, golfing at the Ballston Country Club where she was a member and knitting sweaters for her family. She was always on the go and never missed a dance recital, baseball game or horse show while her children were growing up. She also loved music, traveling, The New York City Ballet and sports. She was a diehard fan of the Yankees, Giants and Notre Dame. Margot loved and enjoyed her family very much and it showed. She was an amazing Mom, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Great, Great Grandmother. Always with a smile on her face and we believe she was the original Energizer Bunny! She was predeceased by her parents, her brother Ernie Lewis and her longtime companion, Eugene O'Brien.
Survivors include her three children; Jodie Powers (Richard), Tim Panton (Karin) and Nancy Carter, three grandchildren; Meagan Dickinson (Donnie), Patrick J. Cooke IV and Cynamin Panton, two great grandchildren; Taylor Catalfamo and William Dickinson, one great-great grandchild, Kambria Whipple, stepdaughter, Kelly (Joe) Coughlin, son, Michael (Savannah) and their daughter Kaisley Rose, stepson, Eugene (Bonnie) O'Brien, and son, Eugene O'Brien Jr.
The family would like to thank every nurse, aide, housekeeper and any other staff who made contact with our Mom at Wesley especially 4 Victoria and 2 Victoria for their love, grace and compassion. They were amazing.
Relatives and friends may call from 11am-1pm on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at William J. Burke & Sons/ Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Home, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs, NY (518-584-5373). A funeral home service will be celebrated at 1pm. Burial will follow at Greenridge Cemetery, Lincoln Ave.
Margot loved animals and we ask that donations in her memory be made to your favorite animal shelter or rescue.
