Saratoga Springs, NY - Mary (Marie) Hughes Lambert, of Lake Ave., passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday (Jan. 6, 2009), surrounded by her loving family. She was 89. Born on Feb. 22, 1919 in Saratoga Springs, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Sarah (Collins) Hughes. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, she dedicated her life to her family and will always be remembered for her strength, courage and faith. Many of her hobbies involved the outdoors, where she enjoyed gardening, sunbathing, the beach and spending time with family and friends. She was an honorary life member of Court McLaughlin 422 Catholic Daughters of the Americas and St. Clement's parish and had been active in her church and community. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Joseph J. Lambert, Sr., and her oldest son, Joseph J. Lambert, Jr. She is survived by her cherished son, Michael G. Lambert and her dedicated daughter and son-in-law, Linda M. Biegel and Glen Biegel, who took excellent care of her during the illness that claimed her; four beloved grandchildren, Jason A. Lambert and Patrick J. Lambert, both of Saratoga Springs, Sara M. Biegel of Coxsackie and John J. Lambert of El Paso, TX and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call from 4 to 8pm Sunday (Jan. 11, 2009) at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway (584-5373). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30am Monday in St. Clement's Church, 231 Lake Ave., by the Rev. Paul Borowski, pastor. Burial will follow in the family plot at St. Peter's Cemetery, West Ave. Members of the Catholic Daughters will meet at 4:30pm Sunday at the funeral home for services.
