Saratoga Springs - Heaven gained another angel as Marie G. Landry, 87, formerly of Schuylerville, NY, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 31, 2024 at Wesley Health Care Center following a long illness.

Marie was born on October 17, 1936 to parents Robert Joseph and Mary Helen Geiger in Woodbury, New Jersey. After spending the majority of her childhood in New Jersey, Marie moved with her family to Connecticut and graduated from Hamden High School in 1955.  Moving with her family again, Marie relocated to New York and started working as a secretary at the Saratogian Newspaper.  It was here that she met Eugene M. Landry.  Marie and Eugene were married on May 2, 1959 at the Church of the Visitation in Schuylerville, New York.

Marie worked as a legal secretary in Saratoga Springs for sometime before starting a family.  As her children grew, Marie returned to work in the secretarial field.  After some years, she had a draw to change careers and trained to become a Certified Nurses Aide through Wesley Health Care's program.  Years later, this came full circle when she returned to Wesley as a resident.

Being a native Jersey girl, Marie was drawn to the ocean and loved vacationing on the sandy shores in Wildwood, NJ.  Later in life, she and Gene enjoyed extended trips to the Clearwater, FL area where they walked the beaches and searched for shells.  Marie was an avid gardener enjoying growing flowers and vegetables.  She spent numerous hours making all of her gardens a sight to behold.  She loved cooking, decorating for all holidays and spending time with her family and friends.  Marie was a member of the Church of St. Peter in Saratoga Springs served as a Eucharistic Minister for many years.

She is predeceased by her parents Robert and Mary Geiger, as well as, her husband of 57 years, Eugene M. Landry.

Survivors include her three children, daughters Kathleen Boice of Queensbury and Suzanne (Jason) Finn of Gansevoort; son Patrick (Brenda) Landry of Stillwater, grandsons Steven Boice, Ian Doty, Zachary Doty and brother Robert Geiger and fiancé, Sue Kelly, several nieces, cousins and friends.  In addition, she leaves behind her close friend, Theresa Fontaine with whom she shared many adventures.

Relatives and friends may call from 10 to 11 am Wednesday, September, 4, 2024 at the historic Church of St. Peter, 241 Broadway with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11am. Burial will be in the family plot at St. Peter's Cemetery, West Ave.
