Obituary

Saratoga Springs, NY- Marie F. McManus, 98, of Saratoga Springs, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 22, 2021.

Born in Saratoga Springs, NY on March 1, 1923, she was the daughter of the late, Thomas G. and Angeline (DiRienzo) Colamaria.  Marie attended St. Peter's Academy graduating in the class of 1940.  She worked in her family's restaurant where she met her future husband, Frank McManus, a thoroughbred horse trainer.  In 1948 the two were married in the Church of St. Peter.  As a devoted wife and mother, she traveled extensively with her family to various racetracks throughout the country.  She and her husband moved permanently back to Saratoga Springs in 1997, where Frank died in 2003.

She is survived by her daughter, Maureen (Larry) Zee, of Orlando, FL; her son, Thomas McManus, of Saratoga Springs; and her granddaughter, Kelly (Lee) Zee, of Orlando, FL.  She is predeceased by her siblings, Lillian Palmetto, Vicki Shea, James Colamarie, Natalie Cummings and Anne Mackey.

Relatives and friends are invited to call from 9:30 am to 11:30 am on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at the William J. Burke & Sons/ Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Home, 628 N. Broadway, Saratoga Springs, NY.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated following calling hours at 12 noon in the Church of St. Peter, 241 Broadway, Saratoga Springs.  Burial will follow in the family plot in St. Peter's Cemetery.
