Ballston Spa - Marie Sophia (Foy) McNamara, 57, peacefully passed away at her home on September 7, 2023, unexpectedly. She was born on April 16th the daughter of M. Holly Foy of Lake George, NY and the late James G. Foy.

Marie was raised in and loved Lake George, NY. She attended Lake George Central High School, she loved sports was very talented in every sport she played. After graduating from LGHS she earned a bachelor's degree from IONA College in New Rochelle, NY.  Marie then began her career and excelled in marketing and sales as an executive at various companies in Albany and Saratoga Springs, NY.

Marie married the love of her life, the late Lawrence P. McNamara on July 1st, 2017.  They spent many happy years enjoying life and doing the things they loved most together.

She is survived by her daughter, Caitlyn Elizabeth Moynihan of Winsted, CT; mother, M. Holly Foy of Lake George, NY; siblings, Deb Foley of Lake George, NY, Chrissy Foy Cooper (Ricky) of Nashville, TN, Jimmy Foy (Kim) of Moreau, NY, John Foy of Saratoga Springs, NY, and Holly Lebrun (Marc) of Hudson Falls, NY; many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who have become family.

Marie lived life to the absolute fullest, she lit up every room with her radiant smile and fierce, larger than life personality. She was a strong, loving, fearless mother, sister, cousin, and friend. She will be forever missed by all that knew and loved her.

At the family's request private services will be held at a later date.

There will be a celebration of life 12:00pm – 4:00pm on September 15th, 2023, at Carson's Woodside Tavern, 57 NY-9P, Malta, NY for family and close friends.
