IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Marjorie Brookman
Hamill
December 12, 1938 – November 11, 2023
Wilton, NY- Marjorie Brookman Hamill, 84 of Saratoga Springs, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at her residence.
Born in Saratoga on December 12, 1938, she was the daughter of the late, Gertrude and Albert Brookman. She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, John Hamill.
She was retired from the Saratoga Springs Public Safety Department. She was a lifelong communicant of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
Marjorie and her husband, John, were fixtures in the Park Place neighborhood where they raised their five children. Their home was often a center of activity for all the kids' friends; many of whom would surely admit that Marjorie made a difference in their lives.
One of Marjorie's favorite pastimes was sitting on her front porch with her husband, sharing a glass of wine, hoping for a conversation with family, neighbors, and passersby alike. This was a simple joy that she loved to share and chat about with her loved ones.
Marjorie also cherished the annual family vacations on Cape Cod. She loved to reminisce about her and John's many travels with dear friends Howard and Mary Lou Cook.
She is survived her five children; Kate (Richard) Edwards of Greenfield Center, Kris (Bruce) Witkop of Saratoga, Karen (Jerry) DellaPorta of Jacksonville, Kevin (Andrea) Hamill of Wilton and Klaire (Timothy) Nappi of Saratoga. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren; Geoffrey, Nicholas (Ashley), Aleyna (Nick), Elizabeth (Steven), Emilie (Jason), Amberlynn (Beau), Rebecca (Craig), William, Travis (Aubrey), Zachary, Benjamin, Julia (Jacob), Samuel, Alexander, Abigail, Emma, and Sara as well as her great grandchildren Payton, Logan, Brooklyn, Dylon, and Declan.
The family would like to give thanks to the staff and the many friends she made at The Summit.
Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family at the William J. Burke & Sons Funeral Home, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs on Saturday, November 18, 2023 from 10:00am until 12:00pm with a service to be held immediately thereafter.
