IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mark Anthony
Davenport Ii
March 27, 1977 – October 20, 2025
GANSEVOORT, NY- Mark A. Davenport II, 48, of Gansevoort, NY passed away on October 20, 2025 due to complications from lung cancer. He had courageously battled the disease for over 15 months before his warrior heart gave out.
He was born on March 27, 1977, in Troy, NY to Robin Pettit and Mark Davenport.
Mark was employed at Milton Cat as a yard coordinator. He loved loading and unloading the equipment as well as showing his son Jameson all the 'big toys' he worked with. He previously worked at US-Ecology, Albany, NY as a Field Supervisor.
Mark's passions included his family, close friends, and fishing.
Mark fiercely loved his wife of 9 years, Megan (Hall), and the life they built together. He continually supported and encouraged her in every way. Their marriage was a true partnership. Family vacations, weekend adventures, and fun-filled day trips filled their years together.
He treasured his time with his children; relished being a 'Cheer Dad' to Bailey, and introducing Jameson to sports such as soccer and hockey. Mark guided Alex to adulthood and was proud of his first-born every step of the way.
Mark was a boundlessly enthusiastic fisherman. One of his great joys was sharing his love of fishing with his children, who frequently landed the bigger catch. Mark reveled in their successes! Mark fished in creeks, rivers, lakes, and oceans. He cherished the annual fishing trips with his 'brothers from other mothers': Bernie and Billy Moak, Brien Palmer, and Mike Naccarato.
He is predeceased by grandparents Eugenia (Decker) Bushnell and Thomas Bushnell, Carol (Gaylord) Davenport and George Davenport; and an uncle, Timothy Davenport.
Mark is survived by his heart broken wife, Megan; his mother, Robin (Jim) Pettit, (Fort Plain, NY); father, Mark (Tina) Davenport, (Troy, NY); daughter Bailey, sons Jameson (Gansevoort, NY) and Alex (Fort Plain, NY); brothers Todd (Destiny) Davenport, (Little Falls, NY), Jesse (Alexis) Davenport, (Glenville, NY); and sister Jennifer (Michael) Martin, (Fonda, NY); as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends, who he loved like family. Also mourning his loss are an old dog (Tuck), a young pup (River), and several tropical fish.
