Ridgeland, SC - Mark French, 56, resident of Ridgeland, SC and hometown of Whitehall, NY, passed away unexpectedly on August 15th. Mark was born February 27th, 1965 to Gary and Mary French in Cheyenne, Wyoming. He was an active outdoorsman, a fan of Giants and Clemson football, and a horse racing enthusiast.
Mark served as a corrections officer for 17 years and was an entrepreneur in his free time. He met his wife, Angela, in 1988 and went on to have two children, Nick and Grayce. His children went on to pursue both professional and athletic endeavors.
Mark was a kind, gentle, and passionate father, husband, brother, uncle, son, and friend. He was a force of nature; determined to provide for his family and extend support to anyone in his life that needed it. He would give the shirt off his back to any of his loved ones and until his last day lived life with purpose.
He was survived by his brother, Scott French (Joey French), Aunt Shirley B. DeStafeno (Peter J. Pociluyko), Aunt Joan M. Smith, and Cousin Greg Smith (Tracey Smith). He held his friends as close as family, with lifetime brothers of John Rosoti, Kevin Gordon, John Zemken, Leon Wilbur, and Paul Mcguire.
Relatives and friends may call from 2:00pm to 4:00pm, Friday August 20, 2021 at the William J. Burke & Sons/ Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs (518-584-5373), with a funeral home service at 4pm. A celebration of life at the Knights of Columbus in Saratoga Springs will follow the service.
