Saratoga Springs, NY - Mark Y. Oppenheim, 70, died quietly in his sleep on Friday, February 3, 2017. He was the son of the late Nathan Oppenheim and Celia Lesser Oppenheim and grandson of the late Fay Oppenheim of Saratoga Springs.
Mark worked for many years for the NYS Labor Department and was enjoying his retirement. Mark enjoyed helping people and was active in the Jaycees for many years using his vast experience to advise the new members. He adored his wife Loretta and spent many afternoons going to the latest movie and eating out. He loved his many nieces and nephews and loved watching them grow and prosper. Mark graduated from Saratoga High School and Albany Business College.
S urvivors include his wife Loretta Gittlestein Oppenheim of Saratoga Springs; sisters Ina Oppenheim Harney of Saratoga Springs and Lyn Oppenheim Burchfield of Fairfax Station, Virginia; brother Philip Oppenheim of Williamsburg, Virginia; nephews Paul Harney of Pound Ridge, NY, Keith Harney of Guyton, GA, Eric Burchfield, of Cary, NC, Andrew Burchfield of Pembroke Pines, FL, Lee Oppenheim of Glen Allen, VA and niece Audra Burchfield Zeibel of Fairfax Station, VA. He is also survived by numerous great nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 1pm Thursday, Feb. 9, 2017 at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs, officiated by Rabbi Monte Sugarman.
