Saratoga Springs, NY - Mark Charles Pehl, 59, passed away on April 7, 2013. He was born in Saratoga Springs to Joan D. Pehl and the late Charles W. R. Pehl. He attended Saratoga Springs High School and graduated from Weber State University in 1980. He married the love of his life, Pamela Dahlstrom, in Encinitas, CA on April 9, 1983. The highlight of his life was the long anticipated birth of his daughter, Kaila Lassey, on December 16, 1989. Mark was not only a great father and uncle he was also a very successful business man, taking a small medical billing practice to a large third party billing company representing both Medical Practitioners and insurance companies. He and his partner, Robert Weinberger, sold the California based company in 1998. He returned to his roots in Saratoga Springs with his family and later became a partner in Pioneer Hills Golf Course. Mark was an avid skier and spent many days skiing his favorite tracks on Snow Basin just outside of Ogden, Utah. Mark also enjoyed golf with friends and family, hiking and camping as well as the Saratoga Race Track and a good cigar. He enjoyed travelling across the country, from California to Alaska to New York to Florida in his R.V. He was a member of the Firehouse Golf League at Brookhaven Golf Course. Mark will be missed for his love of family, his great sense of humor and his generosity to family and friends. He will be remembered for the many gatherings at Cherry Tree Lane for his daughter Kaila, her friends and the SSHS class of 2008. He is survived by his wife, Pamela D Pehl; daughter, Kaila L Pehl; mother, Joan D Pehl; sister Betsy (Robert) Macier; brother Timothy (Patricia) Pehl; his aunt, Patricia Dwyer, many nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws. He is also survived by many caring friends including Spencer Pehl, Frank and Susan DeRossi, Jay Morrisey, all his pals from Utah including Scott Barney, Hal Koga and Gino Hayden and Norma and Gary Redmond from Spokane as well as his beloved dogs, Nemo and Mackenzie. In addition to his father Charles, Mark was predeceased by his many loving animals including Wonder, Sake, Hootie and Max. Relatives and friends may call from 2 to 4pm Saturday, April 13, 2013 at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway with a memorial service at 4pm. A gathering to celebrate Mark's life will follow at the Knights of Columbus, 50 Pine Rd., Saratoga Springs.
