Saratoga Springs, NY - Martin R. Clark, 75, passed away on April 9, 2022, at home with his family by his side. He was born on November 8, 1946, in Saratoga Springs, NY, a son of Jesse and Frances Freeman Clark, and remained a life-long resident of that city. He graduated from Saratoga Springs High School. Throughout his early years, he gained a reputation as a diligent employee with an exemplary work ethic, maintaining multiple jobs which culminated in 40+ years as a seasonal peace officer at Saratoga Race Course, and for the Saratoga Springs City School District from 1980 until his retirement as Assistant Director of Facilities and Operations in 2011.
Marty will be remembered as a devoted husband to his wife of 54 years JoAnn Williams Clark, father to his cherished children Kristen Reynolds, Dean (Lisa) Clark and Damian (Rebecca) Clark, and doting grandfather to Katelyn, Joseph, Luke, Abby and Brianna. He will be missed by his best furry friends Rocky and Chewy. He was a loving brother to his surviving siblings Frederick (Carol) Clark, Marlene (Doug) Fuller, Kenneth (Anna Mae) Clark and Richard (Janet) Clark. He is also survived by dozens of beloved nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Marty is predeceased by infant son Raymond Martin, and by his siblings Violet Oliver, Jesse, Charles, Joseph, Gorman, Lauretta Horton Dowen, Marilyn Weaver Bayer, Donald, Ruth Dowen, Bertha Whipple, Beverly Martin and Alice Vidnansky.

Relatives and friends may call on Friday, April 15, from 2-4:00pm and 6-8:00pm, at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Home, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866 (518-584-5373). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 16, 10:30am at the funeral home. Burial will follow immediately at Greenridge Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Martin's name to Give a Child a Christmas, the Maple Avenue Backpack Program, Backstretch Employee Service Team (BEST) or a place of personal choice.
