Mechanicville, NY - Mary Rose Beninati, of South Second Avenue passed away Saturday, January 31, 2009 at Maplewood Manor in Ballston Spa. She was 68. Born on May 28, 1940 in Troy, New York, she was the daughter of the late Salvadore and Carmella Pettograsso Beninati. Mary Rose graduated from Mechanicville High School in 1958. She then went to work as a clerk for New York Telephone. In 1960, she went to work for the then Central Market for ten years in their human resources department before once again becoming a clerk. Mary Rose worked for Price Chopper for 43 years, retiring in 2003. She was a kind hearted and loving person that enjoyed life to the fullest. She enjoyed going to the casinos, always looking to find her "Pot of Gold". Mary Rose was a member of the Mechanicville Area Senior Citizens and enjoyed playing in their bocci league. She was a communicant of the Assumption/St. Paul Parish Community, a member of Scriptures and a Eucharistic minister since August of 2006. She is survived by one sister, Gloria Caputo and her husband Anthony of Shrewsbury, MA ; one brother, Anthony Beninati of Saratoga Springs; nieces and nephews, Dean (Carolina), Alyssa, Carolina, Ricardo and Francesca Caputo of North Carolina, Patrick (Andrea), Christian, Nicholas and Sophia Caputo of New Hampshire and cousins and loving caregiver Martha (Jim) Dunn of Mechanicville, NY. There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am on Saturday, February 7, 2009 at Assumption/St. Paul Church, William St., Mechanicville. Burial will follow in the family plot at St. Paul's Cemetery, Mechanicville. Donations may be made to St. Jude-Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
