Saratoga Springs, NY - Mary "Jean" Brogan passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at Spartanburg Hospital for Restorative Care in South Carolina. She was 88. Born on Nov. 11, 1925 in Mechanicville, NY, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Anne (Watson) Farrell. In addition to her parents and husband Donald, she was predeceased by one sister and one great grandson. Jean was a lifelong resident of Saratoga Springs until 10 months ago when she moved to North Carolina to be closer to her family. She attended St. Clement's School and was a 1944 graduate of Saratoga Springs High School. Jean enjoyed knitting and spending time with her grandchildren. She also loved dining out and watching vintage movies. Jean was a communicant of St. Clement's Church. Survivors include her daughter, Colleen Butler (Peter MacMonagle) of Charlotte, NC; and her son, Thomas (Rosemary) Butler of Forest City, NC; seven grandchildren, Kristen, David, Heidi, Randy, Jennifer, Timothy and Thomas and eleven great-grandchildren. There will be no public calling hours and a private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
