Saratoga Springs – Mary Louise (Cogan) Eddy Peacefully passed away Saturday, March 1, 2025, at home, she was 98 years old.

Born October 31, 1926, in Schenectady, New York, she was the daughter of the late John and Helene (Butler) Cogan. Mary graduated as valedictorian of her class from St. Peter's Academy.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband William J. Eddy, who died on June 30, 1999; three sons, David (10/2017), John (01/1976), Thomas (04/1962); and siblings, John, Margaret, James, Gene Cogan, and Frances Talbot.

Survivors include her sons, William (Carolyn) J. Eddy Jr. of Middle Grove, NY, Rodney (Lynn) J. Eddy of Saratoga Springs, NY, Eugene (Kathryn) J. Eddy of West Melbourne, FL, and Mark (Catherine) S. Eddy of Wilton, NY. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

She had a specific fondness for chocolate, white wine, and bird watching. She was a caregiver for her son, David, who was born in the late 1940's with Down syndrome. Mary outlived three of her sons and her husband. Mary's wish was to pass away at home and her sons made that happen.

Relatives and friends are invited to call from 10:00am to 12:00pm on Thursday, March 6, 2025 at the William J. Burke & Son/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs, NY (518)584-5373. A funeral service will be held at 12:00pm with a burial to follow at St. Peters Cemetery, West Ave. Saratoga Springs, NY.
