Saratoga Springs, NY – Mary E. Finerty, 97 years old, passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on December 26, 1919 in Ulster Park, NY, she was the daughter of the late Leslie and Carrie Terpennng Herring. Mary graduated from Keuka College in 1942 with a degree in social work. She was devoted to her family and made their happiness her life's work. Mary enjoyed gardening, traveling, reading, and was a fabulous cook. She was a devout Christian and was a member of the Alliance Missionary Church, Ballston Spa, NY.

In addition to her parents, Mary was predeceased by her husband, John J. Finerty.

She is survived by her children; John Jr. (Carol) Finerty, Donald (Pat) Finerty, Emily (Gary) DeFilipps, Michael (Andrea) Finerty and Mary (William) Farstad; grandchildren, Daniel (Tracy Chalifoux) Farstad, Carrie (Dillon) Powell, Rachel Farstad, Garrett DeFilipps, Sam DeFillips; great-grandchildren Embry and Shae Powell and Rivers, Kai and Micah Chalifoux Farstad and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call Monday May 8th from 11:00am to 12:30pm at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff  Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway (518-584-5373), Saratoga Springs.

Interment will follow at 1:30pm in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Duell Rd., Schuylerville.
