Saratoga Springs, NY - Mary Marino, formerly of Marvin Street, went peacefully to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 14th surrounded by her family and the caring staff at the Saratoga Care Nursing Home at the Saratoga Hospital. She was 88. Born on May 22, 1923 in Corinth NY, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Jenny Capocci Marino. She was predeceased by her life-long partner, Raymond DeGrechie; her brother, Dr. Cecil J. Marino, and her sisters, Theresa Shippey and Josie Spinelli. She graduated from Corinth High School and Albany Business College, at which time she worked briefly for the State of New York. She was a legal secretary for over fifty years, most of them for the late David W. Burke, for whom she had the greatest respect. Marys life revolved around her family who meant the world to her. She cared for her niece and nephews, focusing all of her love and affection on them right up until the end of her life. She is survived by her sister, Rose Marino Peck of Saratoga Springs, NY; one niece, Jo-An Simone of Saratoga Springs, NY; three nephews, David Spinelli of Clifton Park NY, Anthony Spinelli and his partner, Vicki May of Saratoga Springs and John Marino of Corning, NY; two great-nieces, Jenny Spinelli and her fiance Paul Straney of Rome, NY and Victoria Marino of Corning, NY and a great nephew, Haig Marino of Brooklyn, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10am, Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at the Church of St. Peter, 241 Broadway by the Rev. Dominic S. Ingemie, pastor.
