Obituary

Greenfield Center, NY - Mary Angela (Ferguson) Masse passed away Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2012 at The Pines at Glens Falls after a long courageous fight against lung cancer. Born on Sept. 25, 1943 in Port Henry, NY, she was the daughter of the late Harold Acey Ferguson and Florence Eliza Ploufe. Mary graduated in 1961 from Port Henry High School and went on to work for the State of NY in Albany. She married Laurence Masse of Westport, NY. She worked for many years as a waitress and in the catering business. Mary was a longtime member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Greenfield Center and St. Michael's Catholic Church in South Glens Falls. In addition to her parents, Mary was predeceased by her brother Larry Acey Ferguson and her sister, Rhinda Ann (Ferguson) Brock. Survivors include her sons, Eric Laurent Masse and his longtime partner Steven DeMarco of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Scott Philip Masse and his wife Kristin Hinkle of Greenfield Center and Jody Michael Masse and his wife Tammy (Tyrel) of Tampa, FL; her sisters, Doris St.Clair of Schroon Lake, Janice Brewer of Ocala, FL, Rhea Belden of Ticonderoga, Linda Nadeau of Athens,TN and her brother, Harold Ferguson of Port Henry. She is also survived by her grandchildren, who she loved and adored and each had a special place in her heart, Hannah May of Ballston Spa, Jessica Masse of Greenfield Center, Athena Masse and Wyatt (Wyman) Masse also of Greenfield Center and many nieces and nephews, all of which she was very close to. Relatives and friends may call from 10 to 11am Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2012 at St. Joseph's Church, 3159 Route 9N, Greenfield Center. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11am in the church. Burial will be in the family plot at Greenfield Cemetery. The family is especially thankful to the caregivers at The Pines at Glens Falls and the Cancer Center at Glens Falls Hospital for their loving care they gave Mary in her fight.
