Obituary

Saratoga Springs, NY – Mary K. McCarthy, "Little Momma", residing at Wesley Health Care Center passed away on November 16, 2021 with her loving family at her side. She was 101.

Born in New York City on March 12, 1920, Mary was the beloved daughter of the late Joseph J. and Susie (Kaduch) Komada.

Mary was a graduate of Saratoga Springs High School- Class of 1939. She worked at General Electric during World War II as a Battleship Coil Winder and later went on to work for N.Y. Telephone Co. as a Local Operator and Long Distance Supervisor.

She worked as a Floral Designer for Dehn's Florist where she met her beloved husband, Michael, who worked in the Garden Nursery. They were married on May 9, 1948 and spent thirty-six years together.

Mary went on to work as a Lunch Cashier for the Saratoga Springs Jr/Sr High School for thirty-seven years before retiring. In her later years, she became a cherished part of the Saratoga Collectible Closet Estate Sales and was known as "The Greeter" – a position she took very seriously. Mary was loved by all whose lives she touched and was affectionately known as "Little Momma".

Mary was a life-long communicant of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Greenfield Center.

Along with her parents, Mary is predeceased by her husband, Michael; sister, Anna (brother-in-law Stephan) Sadlon; and brother, Milan (sister-in-law Edna (Dutcher).

She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Cinquino; son, Dennis (Teri) McCarthy; grandson, Gregory McCarthy (her "Shining Star"); "adopted daughter", Donna Dingmon; and many nieces, nephews and friends whom she treasured.

Mary's family would like to extend their sincere thanks and appreciation to Hospice and all the wonderful caring staff at The Wesley Health Care Center. Each of you became a treasured part of Mom's extended family and provided her with comfort, grace and dignity.

At Mary's request, a Graveside Service will be held for family and friends at 12:30pm on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at St. Peter's Cemetery, West Ave conducted by the Rev. Simon Udemgba, Ph. D.

Memorial donations can be made in Mary's name to The Community Hospice of Saratoga Springs, The Wesley Health Care Center or to a local animal shelter.
