Obituary

Saratoga Springs, NY - Mary E. Neville of Jamesburg, NJ passed away Tuesday (January 14, 2014) at her residence in Saratoga Springs, NY. Born on May 10, 1949, in Saratoga Springs, she graduated with a Bachelor's degree from Brockport State and from Temple University with a PhD in Immunology. Mary dedicated the majority of her career to researching and finding cures for cancer. She spent many years working at Dupont, Onco Therapeutics, Biomera, transave, and finishing out her career at Insmed. Her life's dedication to her work lead to many developments in the cure for cancer; Insmed dedicated a portion of their new building, naming it "The Mary E. Neville" laboratory in her memory, to recognize her outstanding work. Mary was an athlete to her very core and excelled in sports. Often finishing her days of chemotherapy with a round of golf or tennis, Mary loved to travel with friends and family to wherever she could play golf on a new turf. A devout Catholic, she was happiest when she was in church. She was involved in many religious activities at her church, St. James the Less in New Jersey as well as St. Peter's in Saratoga Springs. Mary's strong faith and love of God carried her through her battle with cancer. Thanks to her dear friend, Karol Lubonski, she was able to make the trip home to spend her final days with her loving family. Survivors include her brothers; Lawrence (Darlene) Neville, Donald (Ann) Neville and sister Joanne (William) Wildy; 9 nieces and nephews; many great nieces, great nephews and numerous extended family and friends. She is predeceased by her father, Joseph D. Neville and mother, Margaret Ebert Neville. The family wishes to express much gratitude to Mary's Oncologist, Dr. Gibbon and staff for the unparalleled care, compassion and friendship to Mary throughout her treatment.
