IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mary Rose
Roberts
April 8, 1930 – July 7, 2020
Saratoga Springs, NY – Mary Rose Roberts peacefully passed away on July 7, 2020 of natural causes. She was 90 years young.
Mary Rose was born April 8, 1930 in the city of Cohoes. She was the daughter of the late John F. and Evaline A. Dillon and was the last survivor of her six siblings. She lived the majority of her younger years in Cohoes until she married the late Robert F. Roberts; they then moved to Latham where they raised their four children.
Mary Rose had several hobbies, she loved to knit, read, cook, and later in life did a lot of walking. She loved to visit with her brothers and their wives, play cards with friends, and especially loved playing bridge with her bridge club.
In 1972 she with Robert and their kids relocated to the Town of Milton, where Robert started his own business: Roberts Foreign Auto. Mary Rose then started her part time careers which included: H&R Block, Hickory Farms, the Town of Milton Elections, Food Pantry at St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church, and for the last 10 plus years at the Saratoga Market for Steven's Vegetables. Each place she was at, Mary Rose met a large group of friends. Mary Rose was a communicant of St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church in Rock City Falls, where she met another group of dear friends.
Wherever she went, Mary Rose met all new groups of friends. If you met her, you loved her. She was a very warm, patient, witty woman who was fun to be with and had a positive answer for everything- even when you could only think of the negative.
Later in life, she took several trips to California to visit her sisters, nieces, nephews, and granddaughter. There, she loved walking the beach and any pier she could find. Mostly she loved going there to spend time with her family, and yet another group of friends. She was known to plan the next year's trip before the plane even took off to come home. Every year she would say that the next year she wanted to see even more!
When Mary Rose discovered "Technology" with her cell phone, she thought it was the best thing since her hearing had suffered with age. She loved to text and was able to be in contact with her kids, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews- then she discovered the phone had a camera. When she was bored, they all received many pictures.
Mary Rose is survived by her four children Roberta Smith (Kyle) of East Greenbush (their children Jessica, Brian, and Evan); Marie Roberts (Bain) of Middle Grove; Susan Roberts of Pennsylvania (her children Aja, Jenna, Joshua); and John Roberts (Tracie) of Broadalbin (his children John Jr. and Sarah). She was also blessed with great grandchildren: Robert, Lenise, Jacob, Juna, Eloise, Dakota, Jade, and Ina Rose; and several nieces and nephews.
Along with her husband of 50 years, Mary Rose is predeceased by her son in law Allen W. Bain.
Mary Rose will be missed by her family and anyone that has ever met her.
REST IN PEACE MOM.
