Saratoga Springs - Mary E. Laing Travis, age 77, entered into eternal peace on July 17, 2021.
Mary was born July 20, 1943, to her loving parents, the late Burton and Margaret Laing in Saratoga Springs, New York. She was a graduate of Saratoga Springs High School class of 1961. In 1975 she married the love of her life, the late Robert Travis. She was a lifelong resident of Saratoga Springs.
In her early twenty's, Mary did volunteer work with the first Saratoga Springs volunteer ambulance service, where she drove an ambulance for several years. Mary held several retail roles before finding her passion as an office manager for Soave Faire for over 25 years until she retired in 2017.
Mary's true love was her family, especially her grandchildren. She always enjoyed her drives with her husband over to Vermont, looking for all the garage sale treasures. She also enjoyed the family's yearly trip to the Outer Banks in North Carolina to visit her brother and his family. Mary will be remembered for her quick wit, sarcastic sense of humor, and the love and compassion she showed to everyone. She loved to adopt senior cats from the Saratoga animal shelter and give them the best life possible.
Mary is survived by her two loving children Rob Travis of Saratoga Springs and Kristina Travis Scotti (Jimmy) of Malta. Her beloved grandchildren Tyler and Travis Reardon, Audrey Scotti and her cat Chubby. She was the sister of Gerard Laing (Diana) of Virginia Beach. She is also survived many nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong friends.
The Travis/Laing family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the nursing staff at Wesley short term rehabilitation center and the hospice team that cared for her.
In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to the Saratoga Animal shelter 6010 Country Farm Road Ballston Spa, NY 12020 or Community Hospice 179 Lawrence Street Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.
