Mechanicville, NY Mary R. (Bunk) Wanko, resident of the Home of the Good Shepard and formerly of Hemstreet Park, Mechanicville passed away peacefully on Thursday (Jun. 3, 2010) at Saratoga Hospital. She was 94. Born on April 21, 1916 in Melrose, she was the daughter of Thomas and Julia (Laby) Bunk. She is predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Joseph Wanko. Mary was a parishioner of Assumption/ St. Paul Church in Mechanicville as well as a charter member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court #71. She was a former member of the Hemstreet Park Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She was an avid pinochle player and enjoyed gardening and dancing, especially polka dancing. Much of her life was devoted to caring for her family and friends. Her sense of humor will be greatly missed. Mary is survived by two daughters, Julia Wanko of Woburn, MA and Theresa Ellsworth of Greenfield Center; three grandchildren , six great grandchildren; one brother, Albert Bunk of Halfmoon and one sister, Sophie Delano of Schaghticoke. In addition to her husband and parents, Mary is also predeceased by six siblings. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:00am on Saturday, June 5, 2010 at the Assumption/St. Paul Church on Main Street, Mechanicville. Burial will be in the family plot in St. Pauls Cemetery, Mechanicville. Arrangements are under the direction of the William J.
