Cohoes, New YorkVirginia Hilleary Wilder, 86, died peacefully at Eddy Village Green Nursing Home in Cohoes on April 11, 2009. Born and raised in Terre Haute, Indiana, Ginny, as she was known to her friends, was the daughter of the late Judge Louis R. Hilleary and Estella M. Hilleary of Terre Haute. She graduated from Wiley High School in 1940, and attended Western College for Women in Oxford, Ohio, and the Katherine Gibbs School in Chicago. She then worked as a secretary for Nutone and Owens-Illinois Glass Company in Chicago until her marriage to David Danforth Wilder on March 26, 1949. They resided in Northbrook, Illinois for 39 years. In 1990 Ginny and Dave moved to Hendersonville, North Carolina, where Dave passed away in 2002. She enjoyed reading, playing bridge and the company of her many dear friends. Ginny was blessed with a wonderful sense of humor which remained with her till the end. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law David H. and Nancy M. Wilder of Saratoga Springs, New York; her niece Susan Kennicott Tappert of Highland Park, Illinois; her nephew David Kennicott of Lakewood, Washington; and her cousin Lavina Reef of Muncie, Indiana. David and Nancy Wilder wish to express their sincere thanks to the staffs of the Eddy Village Green Nursing Home, Community Hospice of Albany County and The Terrace at Beverwyck assisted living residence; to Ginnys caregiver and friend Dorothy Roohan; and to Sally Lovering, who read to her on a regular basis. Their kindness and compassion towards Ginny will always be remembered and appreciated. Services will be private.
