Saratoga Springs, NY- Maureen Catherine Tanchyk passed away on June 12, 2026 at the age of 73 after complications of pancreatic cancer. Born on October 28, 1952 in Rahway, NJ to Alfonse and Louise Mazzarelli.

Maureen owned and operated a wig shop in Iselin, NJ where she specialized in styling wigs for women experiencing hair loss.

She married Richard Tanchyk and had a daughter, Rachel, and son, Jamie. They moved to Saratoga Springs, NY in 1992. Maureen touched the lives of many while working for the Saratoga Springs City School District for 30 years.

Maureen is survived by husband Richard Tanchyk; children Rachel (Edward) Lenart and Jamie (Yesenia) Tanchyk; her two granddaughters Whitney and Everly Lenart; sister Rhonda Mazzarelli; and brothers Vincent (Diana) Mazzarelli and Bruce (Diane) Mazzarelli.

Maureen had a full and meaningful life and will be missed by many. She loved to craft, cook, and garden. Her favorite thing to do by far was spending time with the children and grandchildren she absolutely adored and would do anything for.

As Maureen would wish, there will be no calling hours or services, only a Celebration of Life on June 28, 2026 at 247 Grand Avenue in Saratoga Springs, NY from noon-3pm for close family and friends.
