Hudson Falls, NY - Maureen Josephine Woodward Trolenberg, formerly of Saratoga Springs, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, February 17, 2016.
Born on July 19, 1933 in London, England, she was the daughter of the late Frank A. Woodward and MaryAnn Caroline( Carrie) Woodward. Maureen married John William Trolenberg on March 12, 1955 in London England. She was President of the Mississippi Tea Sippers while John was stationed at Keesler AFB in Biloxi, Miss. From 1963 to 1967. She then became an American Citizen while he was stationed in Saigon. Together they travelled throughout John's career finally settling in Saratoga Springs. Maureen worked as a bookkeeper at Adirondack Trust Company and in Medical records at Saratoga Hospital. She was a member of St Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church serving as an usher, greeter and Altar Guild Member.
Maureen bowled for many years as a member of The Navy and Air Force Wives Club. She enjoyed traveling with family and friends and visiting with family all across the US. She especially loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and spending time with them. Maureen also volunteered in the classroom at Corinth Central Schools. For many years Maureen knitted gloves and mittens that she donated to area schools.
In addition to her parents, Maureen was predeceased by her brother Ken, husband John Sr. and son John Trolenberg II.
Survivors include two daughters, Susan Stevens Grigor and Leslie Lyford(Scott Allen) and a son Kenneth Trolenberg(Theresa) of Port St Lucie, Florida; five grandchildren Robert Stevens and Cynthia Stevens Thenhaus of Seattle, WA, , Kirk Lyford and Rachelle Lyford of Saratoga Springs and Taylor Trolenberg of Miami, FL; three great-grandchildren, Leilah and Jaidyn Marie Thenhaus and Rhiannon Stevens of Seattle, WA as well as several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at St Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 149 Lake Ave., Saratoga Springs, NY 12866 at 11am Wednesday, March 16, 2016. Burial will follow at 12:30pm at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Duell Rd., Schuylerville.
The family asks that any donations be made in her Maureen's memory to St Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Altar Guild.
Arrangements are under the direction of the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes of 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs (584-5373).
