Saratoga Springs, NY- Michael G. McAllister passed away Sunday, May 11, 2014 at Wesley Health Care Center. He was 83. Born on August 24, 1930 in Altona, NY he was the son of the late Michael J. and Mary O'Dourty McAllister. He served in the US Army from 1952 to 1954 then went on to work as a salesman for Sharp Electronics in Paramus, NJ. Michael was an avid sportsman, played minor league baseball and loved the NY Yankees. He was an owner and trainer of horses at the Saratoga Harness track. Michael was a member of the Saratoga Council 246 Knights of Columbus Third Degree, member of the Lantana Lions Club in Lantana FL and a communicant of St. Clements Church. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his wife, Marion Boody McAllister; a daughter Lillian Rose Hasbun; one sister Rose Delima Barry and one brother Edward McAllister. Survivors include his children, Mary Jo McAllister of Mechanicville, Michael F. McAllister and his wife Linda of Queensbury, Jane Peck and her husband David of Saratoga Springs and John McAllister and his wife Sandy of So. Glens Falls; six grandchildren, Michael B., Mitzy, Michael J., Sean, Aisling and John; one great-grandson, Michael A.; brother James McAllister of NC and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call from 5 to 7pm Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at Our Lady's Chapel in St. Clement's Church, 23l Lake Ave. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1pm Thursday, May 15, 2014 in St. Clement's Church. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Donations may be made in his memory to St. Clement's Regional Catholic School, 231 Lake Ave., Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.
