Obituary

PRINCESS ANNE, MD- Michael T. O'Hare of Princess Anne, Maryland, formerly of Saratoga Springs, New York, died peacefully at home on October 23, 2025, at the age of 79.

Mike was born in Albany, New York, to the late Michael and Barbara (Jorgensen) O'Hare, on April 13, 1946.  Mike was a 1964 graduate of the Vincentian Institute in Albany, New York, and attended Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, New York, graduating in 1966.  After college, he served in the United States Navy from 1967-1968.  After meeting the former Rosemary Gentile in Albany, New York, they were joined in marriage on December 10, 1966, and were married nearly 29 years before her untimely passing in August of 1995.  Mike worked for the New York Telephone Company as an installer and repairman, and retired from Lucent Technologies after 30 years.

Mike had a deep love of the ocean, moving to the Eastern Shore of Maryland in 2004.  Mike enjoyed traveling and had many adventures throughout the east coast shoreline, as well as trips to the west coast and abroad.  Mike never missed a day solving the New York Times Crossword Puzzle.  He was full of knowledge and loved history, the TV Game Show – Jeopardy!, baseball games and music, including early '60's folk and Bob Dylan.  Mike also had a love of vintage automobiles, particularly his self-restored 1960 Triumph TR3, and was a former member of the Hudson Valley New York Triumph Association.

Mike is predeceased by his parents; sister Kathleen O'Hare; and first wife, Rosemary O'Hare.  He is survived by his wife, Alberta Durst O'Hare of Princess Anne, MD; his children, Michael (Michelle) O'Hare of Gansevoort, NY; daughter Mary Kate (Donald) Crandall of South Glens Falls, NY; grandchildren Cathryn McCloud Salvagni of Ballston Spa, NY; and Ian O'Hare of Gansevoort, NY; great grandchildren Jayden and Isabella Salvagni; siblings Margaret 'Peg' Meech of Battle Ground, WA; and James O'Hare of Albany, NY; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be on Wednesday, October 29, 2025 from 10:30am to 11:30am at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866 (518-584-5373). A funeral home service will follow at 11:30am.

Burial with military honors will be follow at St. Peter's Cemetery, West Ave.
