Saratoga Springs - Michael J Pendergast, 58, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2017  surrounded by his loving family.  He was born in New York City and is the son of Michael Pendergast and the late Margaret Pendergast. Mike married the love of his life Diane Lahey on June 4, 1983 in Washingtonville, NY.   He received his BS from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and an MBA from Union College.

Mike later began a career as a teacher, working at Saratoga Springs High School where he taught mathematics.  He was a loving husband, father and role model who touched the lives of each he crossed leaving an unforgettable impression; therefore, will leave a void in so many lives.   Mike lived life to the fullest and had a passion for fun, rock and roll, the water and travelling.  Some of his best memories reside at Lake Chateaugay, which was his second home for the last 14 years, where he created traditions that his family will continue.

Mike is survived by his beloved wife of 34 wonderful and fun years, Diane Lahey, and two beautiful children Jeannette and Shayne, his father, sister, Diane Adams and her partner John, her son Logan of Johnson City, NY, his brother Kevin and his wife Colleen and their children Liam and McKenna of Binghamton, NY, his in-laws Margaret and Henry Lahey of Exeter, NH, his sister-in-law, Denise Lahey, and brother-in-law, Pierre Colin, of Peterborough, NH, his uncles, several cousins as well as by many, many close friends.

The service will be a private family affair.

Mike had unparalleled support from his family and friends during his illness; he was part of a Multiple Myeloma research study at the Dana Farber Institute in Boston, MA because he wanted to help save the lives of those who may be diagnosed with this horrible disease.   His wishes were to continue research for a cure for Multiple Myeloma; memorial gifts to enable such research can be made to https://tribute.themmrf.org/MichaelPendergast .
