Wilton, NY - Mildred L. Haff passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at Saratoga Hospital after being stricken at her residence. She was 92. Born on Aug. 9, 1918 in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late William T. and Esther (Christiansen) Litson and resided in the area for the past 12 years. A graduate of Oceanside High School in 1937, she had been employed for many years as a secretary for the Oceanside public school district and was a longtime member of the Oceanside Lutheran Church. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Harold L. Haff, who died in 2000. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Jean and Edward Hall of Gansevoort, NY; her son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Kathleen Haff of Cape Cod, MA; two grandchildren, Kristina and Derek Haff and one sister, Janet Baker of Merrick, NY. Relatives and friends may call from 9:30 to 10:30am Tuesday at the Towers Funeral Home, Inc., 2681 Long Beach Road, Oceanside, NY. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30am Tuesday at the funeral home, by Pastor Danielle Miller. Burial will follow in Greenfield Cemetery, Uniondale.
