Saratoga Springs, NY- Mildred Hoyle Meeker, 100 died July 8, 2023 at Saratoga Hospital. She was born in Buffalo, NY and was the daughter of John and Lottie Hoyle. She and her parents moved to Saratoga in 1939 and she graduated from Saratoga High School in 1940. She worked as a telephone operator in Saratoga and during World War II she was a telephone operator in Norfolk, VA.  Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Robert C. Meeker; her sister, Helen Wuest; and her brother, Chester Hoyle.

She and her husband were married in 1946 and had been married for 62 years at the time of his death in 2008.

She was an active member of the Heritage Garden Club, a member of The Saratoga Quilting Circle, the Bethesda Prayer Shawl group through her church and belonged to three active card playing groups. She was also a member of the Hospital Guild and enjoyed her volunteering job at Treasures.

She was so proud and thankful for her wonderful family and kept in close contact with all of them. She is survived by a son, Robert G. Meeker and his wife, Susan; her daughter, Pamela Meeker- Peterson and her husband, Lawrence (Pete); five grand-daughters; ten great grandchildren; one niece; and one nephew.

She led a very active life outside her home but gardening was her passion. Whenever she had a free day, you could always find her outside doing yard work at 7 am. Her hard work showed and she was so proud of her yard and gardens.

She enjoyed crafts of all kinds and was so fortunate to have such a large number of close friends.  They were always there for her and she treasured their friendships and closeness to her.

She was a communicant of Bethesda Episcopal Church in Saratoga Springs.

Mildred will be laid to rest with her late husband at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
