Saratoga Springs, NY Nancy J. Jewett, 81, passed away Monday, April 30, 2012 at Saratoga Hospital after a short illness. Born on September 4, 1930 in Saratoga Springs she was the daughter of the late Edward Farrell and Florence Yeackel. Nancy graduated from Saratoga Springs High School in 1949 and married Charles Jewett on April 22, 1951. She worked at Lake Avenue Elementary School for many years, retiring in 1986. Nancy was a communicant of St. Clements Church and volunteered at the Saratoga Hospital Guild. She enjoyed reading and was an avid golfer. In addition to her parents, Nancy was predeceased by her husband Charles in 2001. Survivors include her sisters, Dawn (Fred) Hamm of Saratoga Springs, Joan Allen of Curville, TX and Ruth Horton of Hayward, CA; three children, Susan (Frank) DeRossi of Saratoga Springs, Robert (Linda) Jewett of South Glastonbury, CT and Stephanie (Issam) Albanns of Lutz, FL; six grandchildren, Lisa (Jason) Lyng, Jeffrey DeRossi, Lauren Jewett, Timothy Jewett, Joseph Albanna and Ryan Albanna; one great-grandson, Jamison Lyng and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call from 2 to 5pm Sunday, May 6, 2012 at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs (584-5373). Funeral services will be at 9:45am Monday, May 7, 2012 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Duell Rd., Schuylerville.
