Ballston Spa, NY - Pull over 2020, Neal is walking from here!  Neal L. Hastey passed peacefully August 6, 2020.  Neal leaves behind his wife of over 30 years Lynn-Anne Fragomeni. His beloved son Carty A.F. Hastey, Carty's wife Kayla and their soon to be born son Lincoln. We will miss him and take comfort that Neal is no longer suffering.

Neal had a lifelong devotion to health and fitness.  He was proud to have been Mr. Connecticut and took pride in being physically fit. At various times throughout his life Neal owned and operated health and fitness centers in Connecticut, New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. This industry is what brought Neal to the Capital District area where he met and hired his future brother-in-law Anthony "Tony" Fragomeni.

Neal loved baseball, the New York Yankees and the Buffalo Bills. When his son Carty started playing sports Neal became a coach. He coached his son starting with T-Ball all the way through high school. Neal volunteered with BARC in Ballston Spa and was President of Ballston Spa Junior Baseball.  Neal enjoyed the time he spent with his son and the children of our community.  He fought hard to be an advocate and roll model for them by coaching.

He was proud to have worked for the Dale Carnegie Institute and Frank Murken Products until retirement.  After Neal retired he returned to organized fitness and worked at the Saratoga YMCA until cancer robbed him of his vitality. Cancer had ravaged his body resulting in cremation.

Neal is survived by his mother-in-law Anne M. Fragomeni, his sister Betty Kane (Jim), Brothers-in-law Anthony Fragomeni (Chrissy) and Dr. Bernard Fragomeni (Karyn), sister-in-law Gina Fragomeni Fox and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be at a later date, the family will notify you.
