Born on July 21, 1939, in Saratoga Springs, he was the son of the late Pasquale and Mary Castino Capone, proud first-generation Americans of Italian heritage.

He served honorably in the United States Army from 1956 to 1957 and was discharged with honor. Following he built a respected career in construction as a skilled tradesman.

A true Saratogian, Nickolas never met a stranger. He cherished time spent with family and friends, and his greatest joy was being surrounded by those he loved. He will be remembered for his warmth, generosity, and deep compassion—especially his tender care for animals.

Nickolas loved “playing the ponies” he was a familiar and friendly presence at the Saratoga Racetrack, known by many and greeted by name. He also enjoyed many spirited games of pool with his friends at the ITAM, where he was a proud member for more than 66 years.

Affectionately known as “The Twin,” Nickolas shared a lifelong and unbreakable bond with his twin brother, Daniel Capone. The two were inseparable—wherever one was found, the other was never far away.

He will be missed by his surviving children: Pamela Capone; Nicholas Capone; Roberta (Steve) Wiley; Sharon Capone; Dennis (Robin) Capone; and Keith (Amanda) Capone.
