He grew up in Queens Village, New York. After graduating high school, Norman faithfully served two years in the United States Army. He was honorably discharged from the Army National Guard on September 11th, 1978. He had three children Jennifer, MaryJane and the late John Nixon. He was a long term employee of the New York City Sanitation department. After retirement, Norman relocated with his family to upstate New York. He was a dedicated hardworking employee of Stickley Audi & Co where he formed great friendships with his co-workers (who have been victims of his pranks). He was a devoted father to his two daughters and a loving attentive grandfather to his three beautiful grandchildren. Norman enjoyed the outdoors and loved to take drives in the country. He enjoyed working on home projects. He enjoyed thoroughbred horse racing and was loyal fan of the Dallas Cowboys. He was a selfless person and always put others first.
