Glenville, NY - Pamela (Beninati) Derrick, 64, of Droms Road, died Sunday, October 21, 2012 at home, surrounded by her loving family. Born on August 16, 1948 in Saratoga Springs NY, she is the daughter of the late Salvatore and Virginia Beninati. Pam was a graduate of Saratoga Springs High School and the University of Albany. She earned Master's degrees in Library Science and Criminal Justice, then worked for the Troy School District and as Program Administrator of Alternatives to Incarceration Programs at the NYS Division of Probation and Correctional Alternatives. Pam retired in 2003 and volunteered with the Glens Falls Medical Mission in Guatemala, served as president of the board for Family and Child Services in Schenectady and on the board of Wiawaka in Lake George. Survivors include her husband of 35 years, James Derrick; children Benjamin Derrick (Cara) of Lowell MA, Matthew Derrick (Lisa) of Daly City CA, and Melissa Derrick (Anthony) of Glens Falls NY; sisters Marcia Beninati of Saratoga Springs NY, Virginia Michaud (Douglas) of High Point NC, and Julie Rohm (Charles) of Charlottesville VA; five grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service and celebration of her life will be from 4 to 6pm Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012 at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs (584-5373). Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
