Obituary

Saratoga Springs - Patricia S. Williams died Wednesday (Jun. 17, 2009), at Wesley Health Care Center in Saratoga Springs, NY. She was 84. Born Esther Patricia Stacey in 1925 in Tonawanda, NY, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Hubert G. Stacey and Florence Suter Stacey. After losing both parents at an early age, she came to Saratoga Springs with her step-mother, the late Dorothy Howard Stacey (Ritchie), in whose loving care she reached adulthood. Pat graduated from Saratoga High School. After studying music at Fredonia State Teachers College, she married her best friend, Kenneth O. Williams, on August 10, 1945. Ken died on October 10, 2008. Pat was an accomplished musician and a virtuoso pianist. For several years she taught music in the Broadalbin and Mayfield school districts. She was a self-taught organist and served as organist and choir director at many churches, notably the First Presbyterian Church in Broadalbin, NY, the place where Pat and Ken made their home for over 40 years. She is survived by her daughters, Nikki Ferguson of Malta, NY; Linda Ronk of Brandon, VT; and Stacie Johnston, of Manhattan, NY. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and her brother, Ralph Stacey of Greenfield Center, NY. The family gratefully acknowledges the kind and capable care of the staff on 3 Victoria and 3 Springs at Wesley Health Care Center. At her request, she will be cremated and the remains interred in the family plot in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Schuylerville, NY, at the convenience of the family. A memorial service will take place at a later date.
