Mechanicville, NY – Patrick Michael Topetro, 82, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, surrounded by his wife and children.
Born in Elizabeth, New Jersey on February 15, 1943, he is the son of the late Andrew and Mildred (Cirasella) Topetro. He was a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School and entered the United States Navy after graduation.
Pat came to Mechanicville and started his career as a hairstylist working at Rita's House of Beauty and soon opened his own hair salon, Mr. Patrick's Coiffures, which he operated for over 25 years. On his day off he would work at Maplewood Manor Nursing Home, making sure all the ladies were able to get their hair styled. Pat continued his career working at The Professional and moved to Suriano's Salon where he retired at the age of 81.
Pat was a man loved by many and was an amazing husband, father and friend. He enjoyed volunteering at his church, All Saints on the Hudson, preparing his sauce and meatball dinners for the confirmation candidates. He also volunteered as a member, then president, of the Mechanicville Family Day committee for many years.
In addition to his parents, Pat is predeceased by his sister Andrea Stasi and brother-in-law Joe DiMaggio.
Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years, Joan (Kennard) Topetro; children Chris (Jennifer) Topetro, Michele (Jim) Stowhas, Jennifer Topetro (Mark Brackley) and Patrick (Erica) Topetro II; grandchildren Ariana Topetro, Haleigh Topetro, Amanda Rosen, Mark Brackley and Nick Vaillancourt; sister-in-law Gail (Michael) Farber; twin sisters Lucille (Bernie) Recinello and Rosemary DiMaggio and many nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.
Relatives and friends may call from 10:30am to 12:15pm on Monday, April 7, 2025 at All Saints on the Hudson South Church (St. Paul's), 121 N. Main Street, Mechanicville, NY.
A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12:30pm, celebrated by the Rev. George Fleming.
Burial with Military Honors will follow at 2:00pm at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Patrick's name can be made to Saratoga Community Hospice, 179 Lawrence Street Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.
