Clifton Park, NY – Paul D. Marinello passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at Ellis Hospital. He was 84.
Born December 9, 1933 in Stillwater, NY, he was the son of the late Aniello and Lucy Capeci Marinello. Paul was a graduate of Mechanicville High School. In 1953 he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and was honorably discharged in 1956 as a sergeant. Paul was a member of the Local 83 Sheet Metal Workers Union in Albany for 50 years. He also owned and operated Marinello Brothers Roofing for 12 years.
Paul was initiated into the Mechanicville-Stillwater B.P.O. Elks Lodge #1403 and served as their past exalted ruler from 1971 - 1973. He was a charter trustee for the Niskayuna B.P.O. Elks Lodge, later transferring to the Clifton Park B.P.O. Elks Lodge #2466 when the two merged. Paul was a longtime ritual coach for the Elks. He was also a member of the Mohawk Post #450 American Legion in Halfmoon, the Oriental Shriners in Troy and was a past District Deputy Grand Patron for the Order of the Eastern Star. Paul helped establish the support committee for the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 37 years, Ingrid "Billie" Weng Marinello.
Paul is survived by one brother, Daniel Marinello of Mechanicville; two sisters, Josephine Marinello of Mechanicville and Esther Laurenzo of Portland, Oregon; two step-sons, Joseph W. Muller, Jr. and Lawrence H. Muller, both of Long Island and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at 12:30pm at the funeral home.
Burial with military honor will follow at 2pm at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville, NY.
