Staunton, VA - Paul G. Rhoades, 69, husband of Barbara (Niebler) Rhoades died Friday, Jan. 10, 2014, at Augusta Health. He was born Aug. 17, 1944, in Saratoga Springs, NY. Paul is the son of the late Frank J. and Kathryn (Callahan) Rhoades. Mr. Rhoades graduated from Saratoga Springs High School in 1962 and attended Paul Smith's College in the Adirondacks. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1966 and served until his honorable discharge in 1972. Following his service in the military, Paul was employed by the City of Staunton. He was a member of the Saratoga-Wilton Elks Lodge No. 161. Paul was an avid golfer, enjoyed camping in the Adirondacks, was a Jets fan, and enjoyed the study of history. In addition to his parents, Paul is predeceased by his brother, Frank J. Rhoades Jr. Survivors include his wife Barbara, son and daughter-in-law, Matt and Jamie Rhoades; a sister, Carole (Rhoades) Cogan; several nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews, and cousins.
