Obituary

Saratoga Springs - Pauline E. Crowell passed away peacefully at Wesley Health Care Center with her children at her side on October 25, 2011. She was 92. Born in Shortsville, New York on December 6, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Edwin and Mary Ellen Sweeney. Pauline received a degree from the Rochester Business Institute. Her first dedication was to her home and family. She enjoyed cooking and making all welcome in her home. She worked at the Arlington School District and for Dutchess County in various capacities. She also worked with her husband in the family business. In addition to her parents, Pauline was predeceased by her beloved husband of 62 years, William Y. Crowell, Jr. Pauline is survived by her children Ann C. Crowell, and her husband Steven Shultz and his daughter Jessica Shultz of Gansevoort and William Y. Crowell, III of Lake George, NY; her sister Mary Barrows of Canandaigua, NY and brother Edwin Sweeney and his wife Frances of Santa Fe, NM and various neices, nephews and cousins. A special thanks from the family to the staff of the Wesley Health Care Center for their loving care. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2pm Thursday, October 27, 2011 at the Church of St. Peter, 241 Broadway, Saratoga Springs, NY. A private burial will be held at St. Dominics Cemetery, Shortsville, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to Wesley Health Care Center, Inc., 131 Lawrence Street, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866. Arrangements are under the direction of William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes of 628 North Broadway (584-5373). Online remembrances may be made at www.burkefuneralhome.com.
