Obituary

Wilton, NY - Pearl Barnes Marra passed away peacefully Monday evening July 5, 2010 at Wesley Health Care Center after a short illness with her loving family at her bedside. Pearl was born September 19, 1919 in Burlington, Vermont and was the daughter of the late Raymond and Amber Hosford. She attended Greenwich Central Schools. Pearl enjoyed reading her Bible, playing cards, doing crossword puzzles, eating her chocolate candy and enjoyed helping others. She was a member of the Bottskill Baptist Church in Greenwich, she enjoyed having company at her beloved home of 65 years. Pearl celebrated her 90 birthday last September with a party at the VFW in Saratoga Springs attended by 110 people. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husbands, Glenn R. Barnes and Tom Marra; two brothers, Earl and Raymond Hosford. Survivors include her three children, Sandra Woodcock(Kirk), Diana Wade(Bill) and Glenn Barnes(Diane) and one brother Gordon Hosford of Saratoga Springs; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and numerous relatives and friends. Relatives and friends may call 5 to 8pm Thursday July 8, 2010 and 9 to 10am Friday July 9 at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway(584-5373). Funeral service will be conducted at 10am Friday, July 9 at the funeral home. Burial will be in the family plot in South Wilton Cemetery, Wilton. Pearl's family would like to extend a special thanks to Wesley Health Care Center, especially the nurses, aides and the other employees that gave her outstanding professional care during her illness.
