Saratoga Springs, NY - Peter Joseph Battaglini, 78, died Friday, January 20, 2017 at St. Peters Hospital.

Born on April 11, 1938 in Endicott, NY, he was the son of the late Peter and Rose Battaglini.  Peter was a loving father to his sons and husband of 50 years to his wife Gloria.  He enjoyed following the New York Yankees and Giants, including attending "The Greatest Game Ever Played" when the Giants lost to the Baltimore Colts in 1958, along with many other championship games. In 1977 Peter relocated, with his family, to Saratoga Springs.  He and Gloria could be found every weekend in August at the Saratoga Race Course, and when not at the track he enjoyed playing golf.

Survivors include his wife Gloria Battaglini; sons Michael Battaglini  and Steven Battaglini (daughter in-law Erin Duffy) all of Ballston Spa NY; granddaughter Kayla Battaglini of Woodstock, NY; sister Eve Rossi (brother in-law Sam Rossi) of Vestal, NY; a number of nieces and nephews and other relatives.

In addition to his parents, Peter was predeceased by his sister Bessie Cocci.

Relatives and friends may call from 11am to 1pm Friday, Jan. 27, 2017 at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs (584-5373).  A prayer service will follow at 1pm and burial will be private at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in his name to The American Heart Association, 440 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205.
