Peter Constantine Daikos of Milton passed away on October 13, 2026 at the age of 85.
Born in New York City on Apr 25, 1941, Peter was the beloved son of Gus and Thelma Daikos and the first generation Daikos born in the USA.
A lifelong resident of New York State, he grew up in Manhattan where he attended Baruch College. He had many exciting experiences, including driving a taxi in Manhattan, being an amateur pilot and working with Franciscan Mission fundraising for decades. He was an early computer programmer, starting in the 1970s, working for companies such as the IRS, 7-Up, and Daitch Shopwell, where he met his wife. He ran his own successful computer consulting company for years until his retirement.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Margaret Daikos (Erkman), their sons Phillip (Mary) and Tom Daikos, and grandchildren, Ella and Evan Daikos, who brought him so much joy. He is also survived by a very large extended family.
Since moving to Milton in 2021, Peter has been a communicant of Christ the Savior Orthodox Church in Ballston Lake. He loved watching old comedies and Warner Bros cartoons, and taking beach vacations with his young family. He also loved a good Greek diner, and could often be found chatting up the owners in their native language as if they were old friends.
He was extremely generous and always first in line to provide assistance to the people he cared about.
The family would like to thank the staff of Saratoga Hospital and Wesley Rehabilitation Center for their exceptional care throughout his final months.
A Mass will be celebrated at 11am, on Friday October 16, 2026 at Christ the Savior Orthodox Church, 349 Eastline Rd, Ballston Lake followed by burial in the Peaceful Meadow’s section of St. Peter’s Cemetery, 150 West Ave, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.
