Saratoga Springs, NY - Ralph G. Ernst of Lake Ave. passed away Thursday (Jan. 14, 2009). He was 82. Born on July 6, 1927 in Wilton, NY, he was the son of the late F. William and Lena (Ebert) Ernst. He owned and operated Ralph G. Ernst Rubbish Removal in Saratoga Springs for many years and was married for 58 years to the former Jean Killough. Ralph was a member of Saratoga-Wilton B.P.O. Elks Lodge #161, American Legion Adirondack Post 70 and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #2586. In addition to his parents, Ralph is predeceased by his daughter Patricia, three brothers, Herbert, William and Albert Ernst and a sister Mary Louise Hammond. Survivors include his wife, Jean of Saratoga Springs; two daughters Nancy (Richard) Howard of Allenton, MI and Connie (Edward) Engestrom of Tamarac, FL; three brothers, George (Lillian) Ernst of Arizona, Amos (Pat) Ernst of Wilton, Larry Ernst of Saratoga Springs; three sisters, Elsie Jackson of Saratoga Springs, Betty (William) Cleveland and Rena (Robert) Dyke, all of Wilton and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call from 9 to 11am Monday (Jan. 18, 2010) at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway (584-5373). Funeral services will follow at 11am at the funeral home, with the Rev. Adam Wiegand officiating.
