Saratoga Springs, NY- Ralph A. SanFelice, 91, passed away peacefully at Saratoga Hospital, on Tuesday, May 14, 2024. He was the son of Francesco and Angeline (Caputo) SanFelice.
Ralph was born on June 3, 1932 in Saratoga Springs. He was educated in the Saratoga City School District and graduated from Saratoga High School, class of 1950. He attended Albany Business College in 1951, then entered the US Navy from 1952-1956, aboard the USS Albany, CA-123. Upon his honorable discharge, he returned to Albany Business College and completed his degree. He then began his long, successful career with various NYS agencies, retiring from the Wilton Developmental Center in 1988.
Ralph was a standout basketball player in both high school and college, becoming the "Comeback Player of the Year" at ABC. In later years, he was an avid golfer, bowler and bocce ball player, as well as an enthusiastic Boston Red Sox fan. He belonged to many clubs including the Italian-American War Veterans, Smaldone Post, where he was a past commander, and the Principessa Elena Society, both in Saratoga. His interests included gardening and card playing, and he was a passionate movie buff with an extensive classic movie collection. It wasn't unusual to see him dancing up a storm at many a family gathering. Ralph enjoyed weekly Sunday visits of coffee, desserts, and conversation with his family.
